Lemme alone, Ma.

I am voluntarily stuck in my parents house for a few days. I don't know what it is about being here that causes me to revert back to thirteen year old me, but it happens every time. For some reason my parents feel its necessary to tell me when I should eat, sleep, eat more, dress warmly...I mean, how do I survive without them? The other night, my mother told me I should wear long johns under my clothes. For cripes sake, who wears long johns? Furthermore, who actually calls them long johns? I'm convinced that she thinks I don't cook or buy food for my family. Her refrigerator is packed to the brim with half of the grocery store's inventory. Every morning is a game of food Tetris as I try to fish out an orange and bagel. "See all this GOOD food I have? You can eat anything you want here. Anything at all!" Thanks, Ma. Nonetheless, I'm soaking up family time. In just a few short days I'll be an adult again, back in my non-painfully cold house filled with non-carb loaded food. Ah, the most wonderful time of the year.

I think it's a mom thing. They don't believe we ever grow up lol

I hear ya! I had a screaming sleep deprived 1 year old on Christmas who just needed bed, Grandma kept saying "after the white elephant he can go to sleep". Wrong. He went to bed before, but nice try.

Must be a Mom thing. I really hope I'm not like that. Ha, ha!

Ummm this is exactly how things are at my MIL's lol! Since that's the only place we really travel to- she is always stocked up with everything and the food tetris thing is hysterical because she too has sooo much stuff it's crazy! Hope you' re having un!!

Aw, what a fantastic thing! It must be a reverse process for girls than it is for boys. Boys you have to get to do things on their own so they will do it themselves, girls you must have to do everything so when they grow up they know how to do all the perfect details themselves, just like you do!

Hahaha, I can totally relate. It must be a mom thing- especially when it comes to feeding family! My mother-in-law is the worst!

Happpy New Year!
